Kaihua Dong, Gaze

"Gaze" is a project that is concentrated on the relationship between film and contemporary social media in regards to female aesthetics, especially on beauty standards. The moving-image artifact will be in the form of an experimental documentary made up of interveiws, a collection of archive footage and analysis, as well as symbolic and experimental visual materials.

In additoin to discussing the development of young women's aesthetics under the influence of contemporary social media and film, this film will serve as an artifact to analyse the archive material based on their semiotics and cinematography.
